The #1 Reason Your Brand Isn’t Growing
Are you ready to grow and claim your abundance?
But for some reason, you feel stuck or are even too shy to do a live video?
For many, we’re taught to be modest, don’t brag, be humble, etc.
Which is true, don’t be the narcissist in the room, we all know that person that can’t shut up. Avoid being that person. However, if you never share what you do or how great you are at getting results then, how will anyone know what you’re capable of?
For instance, we all know Walmart and Target has any and everything we need yet, they still spend millions of dollars a year on marketing and advertising. Why? Because they want to stay top of mind, when you need laundry detergent, groceries, or the convenience of curbside ordering, they’re your first choice.
It’s time to start thinking of your skills, talents and expertise in the same way. Shift your mindset on self-promotion.
The number 1 reason your brand isn’t growing is you. Overcoming the fear of promoting yourself is the key to the growth you want. Period.
Whether you work a 9-5 or are an established entrepreneur, there are plenty of ways for you to self-promote your skills and the value you create. This means becoming a good storyteller and seizing the opportunities as they come. That includes performance reviews, team meetings, LinkedIn or Instagram profiles to share key projects you’ve led, new skills you’ve invested time to acquire, and most importantly - the receipts to prove it.
You’ve earned it, there’s nothing wrong with a HUMBLE BRAG.
Jay-Z said it best, “Sometimes you need your ego, gotta remind these fools…"
I love opportunities where I can marry my love for marketing and apply it to my coaching practice. One of the foundational aspects of marketing is the four P’s and it doesn’t only apply to physical products. It applies to you as a professional or business owner.
Product (You)
Price (Your desired compensation)
Place (Where can you be found - social presence, your network, etc.)
Promotion (Your value proposition and how you’re sharing or communicating it broadly)
Remember, position yourself in alignment with the value that you create and your unique way (framework, method, etc.) of getting it done.
Use the four P's to guide how you self-promote your product, service or general expertise.
For example, ask yourself:
How do you (product) meet your employer/customer's needs?
Where are employers/customers looking for your product?
What are your skills and expertise worth in the market?
How can you differentiate your skillset/product from competitors?
What’s your value proposition? How do you do what you do like no one else can?
Thinking about yourself in terms of the four P's of marketing will help you strategize on how to claim your next opportunity.

What is Pushed & Polished?
Pushed & Polished is a strategic marketing development firm that teaches clients how to make marketing simple and plan like a pro. I work with aspiring and existing entrepreneurs to help them clarify their vision, execute with proficiency and create results that lead to higher profits.
My mission is to help purpose-driven women use the power of belief to illuminate their impact and monetize their gifts. I believe when clarity meets strategy, we are able to show up confidently and authentically design our definition of wealth and success. The goal is fulfillment and freedom for me.
On my healing journey and defining my version of success, I’ve started and stopped. Learned, unlearned and relearned to position myself to confidently communicate my vision and consistently show up to create the life I daydreamed about.
How did I get started? I made a decision and a plan to get unstuck and stop overthinking to building momentum and thriving.
Who am I?
I’m a Marketing and Life Strategist, Advocate against domestic violence and beach lover. With nearly 10 years experience across agency and corporate marketing teams, I’ve been an orchestrator and driver of global, multi-channel marketing campaigns. I’m a pro at navigating challenging business opportunities and uniting teams to create profitable results.
I had the pleasure of living and working across the pond in London for two years while earning my MSc. in International Business Management and Marketing from Kingston University London. I’m also a Blue Hen! I have a BSc. in Health and Behavioral Science from the University of Delaware.
Why now?
I grew tired of playing small, self-sabotaging, sleeping on million dollar ideas, and riding the wave of an organization that’s constantly in a state of influx, feeling like the blind leading the blind.
I’m ready to live out my full potential. Are you? And when you know, you know! Eric Thomas says, “you’re already in pain, you might as well get a reward from it!”
After experiencing and overcoming sudden grief and loss, I knew I can bounce back from just about any situation life threw at me. Don’t get it twisted, it ain’t easy. Yet, I believe that with 100% confidence that it’s possible to design my definition of wealth and success. It’s taken many tears, falling flat on my face, surrendering to God over and over again and exercising humility to say that and believe it.
I owe it to all the people, near and far, that have supported me, to my Mom, God and most importantly to myself. In the words of Auntie Maxine Waters, I’m reclaiming my time! My energy and all my remaining f*cks to give for things that set my soul on fire. I invite you to take this journey with me. I know it will far exceed what we can conceive or imagine.
What can you expect?
I share content to teach you how to clarify your life and business vision, how strategic marketing can help you achieve that vision, and how to create results that lead to higher profits. Also, I share resources related to domestic violence, mental health, and advocacy.
Ultimately, I’m here to help women make marketing simple, plan like a pro and fall in love with who they become in the process.
Courageously Committed,
Ashley Etienne
Yesss! I’m so glad you’re here! Welcome to Pushed & Polished.
This has been a long time coming. Like 5 years to be exact. I had no idea that when I woke up on February 18, 2016, my life would change so drastically.
After losing my Mom to a domestic violence crime, God placed Pushed & Polished on my heart. It’s been a journey living through the impact of domestic violence yet, and I’m grateful I was obedient.
